What is Open Eugene?
Open Eugene, A Code for America Brigade, is a volunteer civic tech group. We are a not-for-profit organization collaborating with community members and public entities in Eugene to assist our city. We promote open government; and facilitate civic engagement using technology, open data, volunteer activism and cross-entity collaboration.
Community connectors providing access and opportunities to create, collaborate and innovate to solve problems and invest back into the community.
Have an established diverse and inclusive community of problem solvers and connectors ready for action.
Open Eugene believes in defining problems that affect civic life in Eugene, Oregon and solving them. Governments, nonprofits and community organizations will identify a civic issue that they or their organization believes could be solved through using open data, technology, and collaboration.
Meet the Team
Open Eugene is made up of a group of individuals who all want to help our community
Community Connector & Media Director
Web designer, Content Creator and Podcast Producer. She loves to collaborate on civic projects that bring people together for the greater good. When not actively working on community projects you can often find her hanging out with her family playing board games and obsessing over color palettes. Often simultaneously.
A pragmatic social introvert. She is an outdoorsy traveling adventure seeking dog walking gardener extraordinaire. She also is the Program Director of Eugene Women in Tech. You will most likely find her wherever you can find a community based project in need of collaboration, mentorship and support.
Special Projects Agent
Former scientist, currently connecting people through the web, printmaking, textiles, design and music. Founder of the Eugene Modern Quilt Guild and Special Agent for EugeneTech. Interested in widely sharing the abundant resources available in the greater Eugene community.
Storyteller & Outreach
Main goal: avoid boredom at all costs. Keeping busy with the co-running of a small media publishing business, non-profit work, mom-life, yarn, and a small herd of animals. Using words to spread the mission of Open Eugene to all!
Ambassador of Awesome
Enjoys Large Scale Art Installations and Colorful Hats. Instigator of things like EugeneTech, EUGCast, Hack-for-a-Cause, CodeChops and of course Open Eugene! The only thing he’s serious about is civic-tech and trying to use our collective powers for good!
