The Painted Porch
The Painted Porch is a community space where people can gather, create, and share ideas during Eugene’s Warehouse District Art Hop. Inspired by the “Painted Porch” of ancient Athens, the project brings art and conversation into the open through collaborative installations that anyone can help shape.
10 Trees
10 Trees is a community-based tree planting initiative in South Africa focused on restoring local landscapes and supporting environmental stewardship. OpenEugene partnered with the 10 Trees team to help digitize the way planted trees are recorded, tracked, and monitored over time, replacing a more manual process with a platform that makes collecting and managing tree data easier for the people doing the work on the ground.
CityCamp Eugene
CityCamp Eugene was a civic-focused event for the Eugene community, that happened on October 25, 2025. This unconference brought together residents, civic leaders, technologists, government staff, and creatives to collaborate on ways to make Eugene a better place. The agenda was shaped by the participants, making space for fresh ideas, local action, and innovative solutions.
White Bird Clinic’s Little Help Book
We raised enough funds to send the printed version of the Little Help Book to press in late 2021. 4000 copies are being printed because people cared. Check back for distribution opportunities or inquire about how you can help. To assist in future printings please check our donation site at Open Collective.

Functional Foundations Pediatric Services is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing Physical Therapy services to children and their families in the Southern Willamette Valley.
At Functional Foundations Pediatric Services, their purpose is simple yet profound: to ensure that every child—regardless of complexity—has access to expert, compassionate, and individualized therapy that helps them reach their fullest potential. Their mission: Empowering children, nurturing potential, building belonging.
Open Eugene Switchboard
The Open Eugene Switchboard is about community and connection. It is an online space for people in the community of Eugene and the surrounding area to connect via ASKs and OFFERs. These posts are about creative opportunities, events, and sharing resources.

BRING Recycling App
In conjunction with MVP Studio, Open Eugene created a portal so that users send photos of materials to staff to be pre-screened for donation before driving to the BRING location. Staff also provides disposal recommendations if items can’t be accepted. Check out the fantastic things that BRING is doing in our community.
Hope and Grief Project 2021-2022
The Hope & Grief Project was designed to bring the community together and express what we’ve lost and what we look to gain in the coming months and years.
The first iteration of the project debuted at the BEAM 2021 art show in early October 2021. It is an interactive art piece, created with image, video, and written submissions, combined into a dynamic display that projects onto a 3D screen.
The Hope & Grief Project 2022 will start in the Windowfront Exhibition sponsored by the City of Eugene, Cultural Services. Project to be revealed in March 2022.
King Pong
A GIANT version of the Pong video game, projected on the wall of Kesey Square, most recently in 2019. The hope continues for King Pong in future years for more events at Kesey Square and other locations in Eugene.
